Earth Merchant Begins Hemp Testing
HempGrower dot com, an online magazine supporting growers of industrial hemp, recently highlighted Earth Merchant owner, Gina Engle in her quest to create the perfect architectural brick that sequesters carbon.
Her partnership with Oregon State University and University of Tennessee is the first of it’s kind in the US. For years, industrial hemp has been legal an din use in areas of Europe, but Engel is a pioneer in for studying and using industrial bricks.
Her research is some of the first in the United States and is being used as a benchmark for other growers to come. The Ologybrick is Earth Merchant’s product that will have many architectural applications and is in the running for the XPrize carbon capture contest.
