STRIVING FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

Industrial Hemp Products and Processed Materials

Earth merchant offers an innovative, full-service business solution for industrial hemp products and processed materials.

We are forging a transparent hemp building product, processed materials and a carbon capturing platform to establish a robust network of growers, builders, and innovators in the hemp fiber industry.

Our purpose is to capture carbon by growing, processing, and manufacturing hemp building products for the health and wellbeing of future generations and the planet.

Why Manufacturers Should Choose Industrial Hemp:

  1. Hemp is a highly prized renewable resource, and is easily grown and cultivated. This provides sustainable opportunity to growers in depressed economic regions, providing jobs and stability to the region.
  2. Hemp is vital to help reduce pollutants. The plants naturally improve soil quality and conserve precious water resources.
  3. Industrial hemp has the ability to separate and bind carbon dioxide permanently into the materials it is manufactured into.
  4. Accredited as a generator of carbon credits, Industrial Hemp is an attractive solution to manufacturers and growers.
Carbon Credit Market Platform

Carbon Credits are a tradable commodity on a volunteer basis. It’s value comes from proven data collection to determine the quantity of carbon sequestered. Our platform’s algorithm calculates the total amount sequestered by individual farms, our manufactured products, and build structures. Credits harvested are then stored and sold on the voluntary market.

Earth Merchant Farmer Network certified partners use our platform to track carbon credits. This platform uses documented, cutting edge data acquisition to track carbon sequestration for carbon credits, training, and Farm Network support systems. We handle the entire process from growth to payment.

IT’S TIME TO SWITCH TO HEMP

The International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) estimates the need at 10 gigatons of net CO2 removal per year by the year 2050. As governments, companies, investors, and entrepreneurs make plans to meet this challenge, we will need a range of carbon removal solutions to be proven through demonstration and deployment to complement work that is already underway.

As a low fertilizer and zero pesticide/herbicide crop, with little management input and a fraction of water, the carbon emissions of hemp cultivation is well below the average. It is a known fact that growing hemp helps and nurtures the soil, even remediates it, and that it sequesters CO2 from the atmosphere with its fast growth.

Industrial hemp has been scientifically proven to absorb more CO2 per hectare than any forest or commercial crop and is therefore the ideal lower cost and risk carbon sink. Trees can take 100 years to grow to maturity while sequestering carbon. We need the trees and more carbon solutions specifically Hemp, that can be planted and harvest 1-2 times per year.

Forbes recently reported that more than 50,000 products are currently made with hemp. No other plant on the planet comes even close to having the number of uses that hemp does.

Seed to Shelf: Hemp Innovation and Impact

Our mission is to create a transparent supply chain of hemp building products, processed materials and carbon capturing technology via a proprietary digital platform.

These hemp based products will provide sustainable housing materials and a robust supply of processed raw materials for other manufacturers and innovators who aim to directly impact the climate crisis.

The consistent and scalable supply chain will be driven by our farmers and processors networked by regional locations, further mitigating carbon output by growing, processing and manufacturing locally.

Our vision is supported by our diverse digital platform to track carbon credit sequestration, trading of hemp commodities and the Earth Merchant Farmer Network support systems.

OTHER WAYS WE CAN USE HEMP

TO SUSTAIN OUR PLANET

Hemp Bast Fibers

Bast fibers are plant-based natural fibers found in crops like industrial hemp.

The growth cycle of an annual hemp crop is as little as 100 days.

Hemp bast fibers can be used in a variety of applications such as paper, textiles, composites, and many more.

The benefits include lighter product weight, reduced energy usage, and more environmentally friendly manufacturing footprint.

Hemp Hurd

Hemp hurd can be used as a green building material in hempcrete, mulch, ceilings, and tiles.

It can be use to make a construction board like particleboard.

Contractors use it as a filler. It’s a naturally biodegradable product and is great for sustainable housing and biodegradable building structures.

This versatile product can be used in numerous ways.

Hemp Seed

Hemp seeds are a rich source of nutrients. Part of the hemp plant, these seeds are technically a nut that can be eaten raw or used to make milk, oil, cheese substitutes, or protein powder.

They are an excellent source of plant-based protein. They contain all nine essential amino acids, and research suggests that hemp’s protein content is well-absorbed into our bodies.

Hemp seeds’ health benefits are expansive.
